Midnight on Beacon Street by Emily Ruth Verona
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The first chapter was intense, and I almost texted a friend who is a fan of horror, but held off.
The genre though reminded me a bit more of a coming of age story overall than a thriller. I also don't mind jumping around with time-frames, but didn't see the point of one of the narrator's story, going back to different times from previous flashbacks; it just didn't seem to add anything to the build up of the plot.
Decent writing, some suspense, a few interesting characters.
Decent debut
